Black Berry OS RIP

Blackberry will turn off all major services, including data, SMS, phone calls, and 911 support, on January 4th. They're officially terminating network provisioning for these older devices, which means they won't be able to connect to any cellular or WiFi networks.

To the average person, this may seem meaningless. but in the technological community This is the end of an era for sure. The blackberry was the forerunner of today's smart phone era. The BlackBerry was the first device to provide high-quality email messaging.

With a BlackBerry messenger that is identical to iMessage. Blackberry Messanger was the inspiration for imessage. Although, by today's standards, the Blackberry operating system is completely obsolete. It has no effect on the influence it had  on today's smart phones. We believe the reason it failed was due to a lack of developers for the app development. People mostly create apps for the Android and iOS platforms.

Blackberry will continue to produce devices as they have in the past. This may change in the future, but the present and future array of handsets will run  on the Android operating system.
